“Thank you, President Obama!” That’s exactly what our spender-in-chief wants the American people to say tonight after his prime-time address to the nation. In case you didn’t hear, Rahm Emanuel (my LEAST favorite Obama aide) provided a preview of the President’s remarks tonight where he indicated this administration rescued the economy:
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told The New York Times Obama intends to use the news conference as a “six-month report card,” to talk about “how we rescued the economy from the worst recession” and the legislative agenda moving forward, including health care and energy legislation.
Emanuel’s arrogance is only surpassed by his boss’s. They both want you to believe that their spending program (aka stimulus) has saved this country and turned our economy around. The last time I looked, my paycheck wasn’t affected by their spending. In fact, I think most Americans are worse off now then they were a year ago. Unemployment continues to rise (although Obama said this spending program would help decrease joblessness) and there seems to be no direct relief from the overburdening federal tax behemoth. Add in a crazy health care proposal and nonsensical energy plan and you get a country that may actually end up losing citizens if both proposals pass Congress.
If I was providing a six-month report card, I’d give this gang an F.
