The Democratic Party is trying to dig up all kinds of dirt on GOP candidates across the country. There is no surprise here, since the Party has become an extension of Chicago-style politics. The GOP must keep their cool amid these political fishing expeditions and ask voters if they are better off now than two years ago. Remember two years ago? All that hope and change? Where is it?
House Dems are asking private insurance companies for employee’s salary data and schedules containing information regarding corporate retreats.
Privacy seems not to exist with this bunch of Democrats and this is nothing more than a witch hunt being funded by the taxpayers of the US in an attempt to vilify the insurance industry.
Sixty votes in the Senate? Not so fast. There aren’t 60 Democrats in the United States Senate. There are actually 58 Democrats and 2 Democratic caucusing Independents (Sanders and Lieberman). Familiar faces aplenty will grace the Obama cabinet. If you’re looking for fresh faces, look elsewhere. Here’s a rundown:
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson – Bill Clinton’s Energy Secretary and UN Delegate. He’s been mentioned as a possible Secretary of Commerce.
Sen. Hillary Clinton – Former first spouse and potential Secretary of State.
Lawrence Summers – Former Secretary of Treasury under Clinton. It looks like he’ll be tapped for the same position under Obama Obama’s chief economic advisor.
Rahm Emanuel – Obama’s Chief of Staff had been an adviser to President Clinton.
Eric Holder – Formerly a Clinton Deputy Attorney General and on tap for the top job at the Department of Justice.
Congress is looking into a commercial that features Dr. Robert Jarvik rowing down a lake. The atrocity? A stunt double was used in said commercial. Somebody let Guantanamo Bay know there may be some ad executives joining the ranks.
An interesting read of the future of the GOP and what Micheal Kinsley calls “Libertarians”. Admittedly, he uses broad strokes in his writing and I can’t agree with everything, but it does provide a valid conclusion.
It looks like a group of conservative Christians are considering backing a third-party candidate if Rudy Giuliani is the 2008 GOP nominee. Could this splinter the Republican Party? Depending on who this mystery candidate is, we may be ushering in a Democrat in 2008. Then we all lose.
