White House Off Base on AIDS Transmission

The White House is looking to remove the criminal offense attached to knowingly transmitting HIV/AIDS to unknowing victims.

A Chicago-Style Appointment for Berwick

It looks like Dr. Donald Berwick will end up running Medicare and Medicaid, being appointed while the Senate is recessing.  Despite the facts that this position has been vacant since 2006, the Senate is only out of session for two weeks, and members of the Senate are still awaiting for Dr. Berwick to provide responses to some inquiries, the president must think it’s critical not to wait and press forward.

Or, he could be worried that a confirmation hearing would re-hash all the awful things that Obamacare stands for.

Americans: Health Care Too Costly

According to a USA Today poll, 2/3 of Americans think Obamacare costs too much and too greatly expands the size of government.  Let’s hope these numbers are true, and the GOP can use this to take back Congress, and eventually the White House.

Closed Door Health Care

Although Candidate Obama pledged to “broadcast” the health care negotiations, President Obama has been singing a different tune.  Hey, the idea sounded good at the time for a candidate who wanted to remain popular…wanted to bring about change.

Now, the President realizes that little is done in public in Washington–the law making process is like making sausage, and we’re about to have the worst tasting sausage shoved in front of us.

Government Chasing Waste

One of the ways President Obama said he’ll fund this massive health care bill is to go after the waste currently in the health care system. Can anyone actually believe that government can hunt waste and eliminate it anywhere? It may be the most laughable line from last night’s speech.

Trust in Government and Healthcare

A nifty opinion piece from Thecitizen.com.

Dems Probe Private Companies

House Dems are asking private insurance companies for employee’s salary data and schedules containing information regarding corporate retreats.

Privacy seems not to exist with this bunch of Democrats and this is nothing more than a witch hunt being funded by the taxpayers of the US in an attempt to vilify the insurance industry.

Democrats Getting Desperate

Just a rundown of the items that have recently developed that lead me to believe the Dems are losing it regarding the health care debate:

  1.  The White House scheme to find out “fishy” facts being circulated about their healthcare plan by developing an e-mail address for Americans to tattle on their friends, neighbors and radio personalities.
  2. The President saying that Fed Ex and UPS are doing fine, and the problems in deliveries are with the US Postal Service
  3. Town Hall protests show grassroots efforts are working as they jar members of Congress who are trying to push through “reform”.  Watching our elected officials squirm and become uncomfortable answering to their constituents gives me great faith in our electorate.
  4. Pelosi and Reid calling these aforementioned protesters “un-American”.   These people disagree with the way their government is looking to operate.  They’re expressing their American right to free speech.
  5. Reid calling these protestors “evil-mongers”.  See above.   Do you think Jefferson, Washington and Franklin always had cordial ways of speaking to each other as they debated the future of our country?
  6. Today’s flip on the public option.

This list will continue to grow–stay tuned.
