White House Off Base on AIDS Transmission

The White House is looking to remove the criminal offense attached to knowingly transmitting HIV/AIDS to unknowing victims.

Lower That Music!

Here’s a creative way to solve an age-old problem.

What if you blast Barry Manilow music?  This would be more of a reward than a punishment.

I Dont Care if you Pay for Sex

Apparently, Garden City, NY has absolutely no crime, as its police force is now posting fake ads on Craig’s List in order to entrap unsuspecting would be hookers and johns.

There are more important things for law enforcement officers to be focusing on than consenting adults paying for sex. We aren’t talking about children here; we are talking about CONSENTING adults. Surely it may be distasteful, but its better that it’s transacted on the internet than on the street corner. It is time for Conservatives to accept some of the not so pleasant realities of life. People (alright…men) want sex at all times, and if they can’t get it the old fashioned way (namely, blowing $80 on dinner, and then another $50 for a movie), they will pay for it directly. Who cares? Last time I checked, Conservatives were in the business of reducing the size of government, not increasing its powers to include bed sheet sniffing. If the founders wanted bed sheet sniffing to be the law of the land, they’d have mentioned it in the Constitution!

To paraphrase the Gipper, the only thing on this earth close to eternal life is a government program. Expand that to also include a “need” for government. If you can convince people that their quality of life is somehow hindered because consenting adults want to mess around, then you can persuade them to pay the salary (and benefits, and pension) for someone to try and stop it.  Cops don’t want to be posting ads online trying to snare a lonely soul looking for a quickie any more than they want to be hanging out in airport toilets. If there is nothing better for them to do, then FIRE THEM, and save the taxpayers some money.

When it comes to prostitution, legalize it, tax it, and forget about it. We will all be better off.

Big Government Disgrace – John Kerry

Since liberals can’t seem to make traction on their own in the talk radio industry (remember Air America?) some are asking for “equal time”.  Senator John Kerry, in this clip is preaching fairness (i.e. censorship) in order to create balance.  Would someone please tell the original flip-flopper that the market should not have this kind of  government intervention?  Let the market dictate what shows to air and let the public decide what we like or dislike.

P.S. Has anyone seen this so-called fairness in the news reported by the New York Times, Time Magazine, CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, Katie Couric, Dan Rather…

So Long, General Pace

Score one more for the small government conservative movement (for now); Peter Pace will be retiring on September 30, 2007.  The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is best known for ”running” the war in Iraq and stating, “I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts.”  He went on to equate adultery and homosexuality–both being immoral acts.

I have no issue with him speaking his mind or with his beliefs.  The beauty of America is that we have the right to free speech.  My beef with General Pace was that he believed the military should be making judgement calls based on his moral values.  This assertion flies in the face of small government conservatism, and has been part of the Bush administration since day one.  I’m all for our leaders to be good and decent people, but I can’t support those elected (and non-elected) officials telling me how we should live our lives, and what is moral or immoral, be it homosexuality, adultery or bed wetting.  Save that conversation for the classroom, dinner table and places of worship.
